A nurseryman and horticulturist since 1973, Kenan Rowlett has specialized in growing bamboo, grasses and hardy tropical plants since starting the nursery in 1995. Even though Kenan is best-known as the "bamboo guru" in Eugene, he is now focused on growing perennials, native woodland wildflowers from the southern Appalachians and the Pacific NW, hardy orchids, hellebores, hardy palms and Cavendish banana trees that bear fruit in zone 8. Kenan also has a nice collection of trilliums, fritillarias, arisaemas and epimediums which is continually expanding.

The nursery is a lush sanctuary of bamboo forests, woodland gardens, carnivorous bog, rock garden and a pond with a waterfall and tranquil creek. Our plants are grown with love and care. Care of the environment, the earth and all of its creatures. Although we are not certified organic, we grow plants as if we are and use only organic fertilizers. No chemical pesticides are used, and we brew our own compost tea. We release beneficial predator insects each spring for pest control, and compost tea keeps our soils and plants healthy.
